THIS WEEK’S VERSES:

PRACTICAL APPLICATION:

1. Practice Gentleness. Make a concerted effort this week to choose to respond with gentleness in a potentially harsh situation. It could be with a co-worker, spouse, child, boss. Keep the visual of the large hammer breaking a walnut in your mind – breaking the shell without flattening the nut.
2. Write it out. Write out this sentence in a journal or notecard each morning until it becomes part of your inner script you can pull up when needed: “Gentleness is having the right, the power and authority to do something but choosing to bring it under control to fulfill a higher good.”

Thank you ladies, again, for another encouraging, gently 😉 convicting podcast. I was feeling alone this morning and then thought of you, and tuning in cheered me up and made me smile again.
I love gentleness. In all humbleness, I think this gentleness is my strength. But it really spoke to me to give a gentle “answer”, not passive aggressive doing nothing and talking behind their back sort of thing. It’s hard though to decide when to speak and when to be silence and just evaluate your own thoughts and feelings. I guess it takes self-control and self-awareness.
I will never forget that my last pastor, in Michigan, said that meekness is “strength under control” and you gave that example also. I really like thinking about that and how strong we can be but never having to be aggressive trying to prove something.

It always is so hard to discern between spirit and flesh…and our goal in discussing these issues is to figure it out for ourselves, not just teach to others.
