EPISODE 157: WORK (Be Complete Series)

BE IN THE WORD:

Proverbs 31

13 She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.

14 She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar.

16 She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.

17 She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.

18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night.

19 She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.

20 She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the merchant.

BE EDUCATED:

  1. Just various commentaries from BlueLetterBible.org this week!

BE DOERS, NOT JUST HEARERS:

  1. Is any work you do a natural overflow of your giftings and talents? Is there anything you’re doing for “work” that feels like a natural overflow of who the core of you is? If so, praise God for that gift and give thanks. If not, pray for opportunities to put that into practice.
  2. How would you categorize the work you do? Are your categories similar to our P31 woman? Are they wildly different? Make a list of your work, your mission, your calling, and see if you can file them into a short list of categories. While we all feel pulled into a zillion different directions each day, this is a great exercise to see that all those little things really do add up to meaningful work.
