Time to Sit Back and Unwind
There’s something about summer.
About turning off the alarm clock and throwing away the to-do list; about sinking toes in the sand and facing the sun and just letting the rays and the sound of the surf wash away the tension of daily life with every lap on the shore.
There’s something about summer.
About letting your kids have popsicles before dinner and driving with all the windows down cranking what your kids would call “the oldies” (aka, 90s hip-hop or 80s new wave) and singing at the top of your lungs. About waking up and deciding at 11 am that day what the plan is…not having anywhere to be at any particular time.
There’s something about a summer that we innately desire and yearn for — a season, a time when it’s permissible to possess an attitude of letting go, of relaxing, of sinking down and just chilling out. Even if you work, even if your day-to-day never changes…there’s something about summer that beckons all of us to sit back and unwind.
Just like Will Smith said.
It’s sort of a holy Be Chill and Know this time of year. #canigetawitness
So that’s exactly what BE is going to do for the summer. We’re going to let things go and chill out…but in doing that, we’re opening ourselves to embracing something new God might want to do.
For the rest of the summer, we’re taking a vacation from airing podcasts and posting weekly blog posts. We’ll come back mid-August with an incredibly exciting new podcast series, so we’ll keep you posted on that for sure! But our typical format is changing over the summer.
Here it is, the groove, slightly transformed
Just a bit of a break from the norm…
(ahem.)
In its place, we have something new and fun coming your way. It’s going to be a total switch from anything we’ve done before, and we hope you like it as much as we do! Check back on Friday for more details!
Even if your everyday doesn’t look any different today than it does in the fall, we hope that you’re able to embrace an attitude of summer for the next several weeks; that you’re able to grab your kids at the last-minute for a drive to watch the sunset; or make a spontaneous stop at 9 pm at Sonic for ice cream; or turn off your phone and just lay by the pool for one precious hour…ALL ALONE…and listen to the Laid Back Beach Music station on Pandora. As a very, very general example.
There’s something about summer.
